Veteran Nollywood actor, Alex Usifo has opened up on several reasons that have bedevilled the Nigerian movie industry.

According to the actor, good scripts are not the only reason some Nollywood flicks are uninteresting, but budget and some producer's resolve to cut cost, contributes to the many terrible productions that have plagued the industry.

In his own words:
"If you ask me, Nollywood is getting bigger, the only thing is you may complain that the stories are not the way they used to be. When people complain about Nollywood, they complain of the stories and the kind of people they see.
"Maybe a lot of us, when we are given scripts and we don’t like the story, we can tell them we don’t want to be part of it. And on their part, they can’t afford us so they settle for less and these things affect good production, because you may have a good story but don’t have the kind of money to pay artistes, equipment, right locations, good direction, good cameramen. So, if some aspects are not right, it will affect your story."
The 63-year-old actor is popular for Nollywood movies like 'Silent Night', 'Desperadoes' and 'Final Point'.
